Explanation
Background:
- Bids were received by the Recreation and Parks Department on May 18, 2004, for Sills Park Improvements Project, as follows:
Status Amount
Miller Pavement Maintenance Majority $190,000.00
The Righter Co. Majority $199,700.00
McDaniels Construction MBE $231,907.00
Bale Contractors Majority $281,392.00

- Project includes miscellaneous site improvements, ball diamond lights, electric service, concrete and installation of asphalt, metal gate, fencing, bollards, drainage, grading and seeding, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract in accordance with the plans and specifications.
- The Contract Compliance Number for Miller Pavement Maintenance, is #31-0831781.
- A contingency amount of $9,766.00 is being included in this project.
- The approximate cost of Recreation and Parks staff time on this project is $2,000.00 (02-027).
- Emergency action is necessary so work can be completed during the fall season prior to asphalt plants closing.

Fiscal Impact:
- $121,766.00 is required and budgeted in the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund to meet the financial obligation of this contract.
- $80,000.00 is required and budgeted in the Voted 1995 and 1999 Parks and Recreation Bond Fund to meet the financial obligation of this contract.
