Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify a contract on behalf of the Facilities Management Division with General Maintenance & Engineering Company for roof repairs. The contract was formally bid in August 2011 (SA004098). The contract term is September 1, 2011 through August 30, 2012. The contract encompasses all buildings under the purview of the Facilities Management Division. The Real Estate Management Division will utilize this contract in order to complete the replacement of three balcony roofs at the Jerry Hammond Center, 1111 East Broad Street.
The work is to include, but is not limited to, removal and disposal of the existing reinforced EPDM (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) roofing membrane, insulation, and the gravel of the existing built-up roof.
Emergency action is requested so that the contractor will be able to complete this project during good weather.
General Maintenance & Engineering Company Contract Compliance No. 31-4188545, expiration date May 19, 2012.
Fiscal Impact: The cost of this contract is $24,780.00. Funding for this modification is available in the Construction Management Capital Improvement Fund.
