Title
 
To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of the late William "Bill" Moss, Sr. and to extend sincere condolences to the family and friends on the sorrowful occasion of his passing.
 
Body
 
Mr. Moss, born in 1935, grew up the third of six children in his parents' Florida home, first began his service to his community and his country in 1954, when he joined the Army and was sent to France.
 
Mr. Moss arrived in Columbus in 1964, sharing news and entertainment with the Central Ohio community as a disk jockey for WVKO radio.
 
Mr. Moss first joined the Columbus Board of Education in 1977, tirelessly serving as a member for nearly three decades, receiving numerous awards for his dedication and commitment to the education of the children of Columbus.
 
Married in 1967 to Ruth Coleman, Mr. Moss is survived by his wife Ruth, five children and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.
 
As a public servant, Mr. Moss left an indelible impression on the people whose lives he touched and he will be remembered for his generosity, talent and seemingly inexhaustible energy.  He will be sorely missed; now, therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby pay tribute to the memory of a dedicated servant to the school children of the City of Columbus, Mr. William "Bill" Moss, Sr.
