Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a contract for sewer service with the Village of Minerva Park.
FISCAL IMPACT: The Department of Public Utilities will collect revenue from sewer rates as specified for Outside City Rates in Chapter 1147 of the Columbus City Code.

To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a contract with the Village of Minerva Park to provide sewer service.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus and the Village of Minerva Park entered into a sewer service agreement on July 22, 1974 which agreement was amended by the parties on September 1, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the sewer service agreement as amended has expired; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus and the Village of Minerva Park desire to enter into a new sewer service agreement; and
WHEREAS, in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities, it is necessary to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a sewer service agreement with the Village of Minerva Park for the preservation of public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare, Now, Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Utilities is hereby authorized to enter into contract with the Village of Minerva Park to provide sewer service.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
