BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes the Administrative and Presiding Judge of the Franklin County Municipal Court to accept a grant of $450,000.00 from OneOhio Recovery Foundation, appropriate from the unappropriated balance of the private grant fund. This grant will fund recovery housing for defendants in need in the court.
Emergency Legislation is requested so the department can implement contracts and services immediately.
FISCAL IMPACT: $450,000.00 will be expended from the Private Grant Fund.

WHEREAS, a grant from OneOhio Recovery Foundation in the amount of $450,000.00 has been awarded to provide recovery housing Franklin County Municipal Court; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the City in that it is immediately necessary to approve the acceptance of this grant so that the department can implement contracts and services without delay, for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, property, and safety; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Administrative and Presiding Judge of the Franklin County Municipal Court be and is hereby authorized to accept a grant in the amount of $450,000.00 from OneOhio Recovery Foundation for recovery housing.
SECTION 2. The sum of $450,000.00 is hereby authorized to be appropriated upon receipt of funds from the grantor to the Franklin County Municipal Court according to the account codes in the attachment.
