Explanation
BACKGROUND:

Need: This legislation is to authorize and direct the Finance and Management Director to issue a purchase order for miscellaneous radio equipment from an existing Universal Term Contract established by the Purchasing Office for such purpose with B&C Communications; included in this purchase will be miscellaneous equipment associated with portable radios assigned to authorized personnel, and mobile data terminals for emergency response vehicles, including but not limited to cables, speakers, antennas, microphones, etc.

Bid Information: A Universal Term Contract with B&C Communications exists for these purchases; FL002851.

Contract Compliance: 311736030

Emergency Designation: Emergency action is requested as funds are needed immediately to equip authorized personnel and emergency vehicles as necessary with radio communications equipment.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Budgeted Amount: Unencumbered cash is available within the Division's current Capital Improvement Budget for these purchases, Safety Voted Bond Fund, Apparatus Replacement Project for this purchase.
