Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Directors of the Departments of Development and the Public Service to enter into a guaranteed fixed price contract with the Columbus Housing Partnership, as part of the Columbus Housing Initiatives Project, Capital Improvement Program, for street lighting improvements in the public right of way for thirteen homes built or rehabbed in the North of Broad (NOBO) project area as of April 1, 2008.
The NOBO project is in the Columbus Public School District and located on North Twenty-First Street between Long Street and Mount Vernon Avenue inclusive of Spring Alley. The project has constructed two single-family "green" in fill homes, one new build and one rehab. A total of thirteen homes have been added or rehabbed on the street.
Emergency action is requested so that the contract can be in place during the construction season.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds for this project are allocated from the Streets and Highways G. O. Bond Fund capital improvements budget.
