To honor and celebrate the kick-off of the Green Light Project at The Huckleberry House and to declare November as National Runaway Prevention Month.

WHEREAS, Statistics show that 1 in 7 youth will run away from home before the age of 18 and Family problems are the most frequently identified reasons why teenagers are on the streets; and
 
WHEREAS, The Green Light Project is a nationwide education program, started by Huck House, designed to bring attention to America's runaway epidemic and show support for runaway youth; and
 
WHEREAS, Their objective is to increase awareness regarding the Green Light Education Program to as many people and communities as possible so that Huck House can reach their new goal this November of 15,000 light bulbs; and
 
WHEREAS, Columbus is the catalyst of the Green Light Project, fostering guidance, hope, safety and intervention to Central Ohio area youth; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:That this Council does hereby recognize the Green Light Project at The Huckleberry House's extensive community and celebrate the kick-off of the Green Light Project at The Huckleberry House and to declare November as National Runaway Prevention Month.
