Title
To congratulate Judge Cynthia C. Lazarus, recipient of the 2005 AFL-CIO Community Service Award, recognizing leadership and involvement in the Central Ohio Community.
Body
WHEREAS, The George Meany Awards Banquet, the largest labor recognition of its kind in the country, is a night for the Central Ohio AFL-CIO and the United Way Community Services Department to recognize local business and labor leaders who have given outstanding volunteer service to the community; and
WHEREAS, The AFL-CIO Community Service Award is given to a community volunteer whose leadership and involvement has made a significant contribution to the Central Ohio Community; and
WHEREAS, this year's recipient, Judge Cynthia C. Lazarus, of the Tenth District Court of Appeals has served her community in the past as a member of this City Council and continues to serve the community on the Board of the United Way of Franklin County where she chairs the Safety Vision Council; as President-Elect of the Columbus Bar Foundation, Board of Trustees; as Vice-President of the Columbus Marathon Board of Trustees; and Vice-President of the Mothers' Association of the Columbus School for Girls; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby congratulate the recipient of the 2005 AFL-CIO Community Service Award, Judge Cynthia C. Lazarus, whose leadership and involvement has made a significant contribution to the City of Columbus.
