Explanation

Background: The City of Columbus ("City"), is the fee owner of certain real property, which is leased to the Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority ("County"), commonly known as the Franklin County Convention Center ("Center"). The City and County jointly desire to grant the Columbus Southern Power Company, an Ohio corporation, an easement for the purpose of installing underground electric wires and appurtenances. After investigation, the Department of Finance and Management on behalf of the City has determined that it is in the best interests of the City to grant these requested easements at no charge. This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Finance and Management to execute a Quitclaim Deed of Easement necessary to grant the subject easement.

Fiscal Impact: N/A

Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested as not to delay the benefit to the City and County, which will result from the proposed electric services to be provided in connection to the Franklin County Convention Center.

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus ("City") and the Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority ("County") jointly desire to grant the Columbus Southern Power Company, an Ohio corporation, certain easements for the purpose of installing underground electric wires and appurtenances in order to supply electric services; and
