Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with A Step in the Right Direction, a non-profit entity, in support of their Hygiene Program.

The mission of A Step in the Right Direction is to help restored citizens successfully reenter into Central Columbus through programs and resources, while advocating for their rights. A Step on the Right Direction has three pillars: helping to support enabling self-sufficiency and improvement in quality of life, helping to build healthy relationships with families by offering support and engagement that may be needed, and to offer the development of individuals through training and linkage to opportunities.

The Hygiene Program offers various hygiene and cleaning products to the Westside community. Individuals can receive these items 3 different ways: the hygiene free store, mini hygiene free store in schools and through community outreach. The audience is low-income individuals that are located on the Westside including Franklinton, the Greater Hilltop & Far Westside.

Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.
