To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Carla D. Fountaine, 1981-2024

Body

 

WHEREAS, Carla D. Fountaine, of Galloway, Ohio, was born on July 6th, 1981, to her late parents Lavonda Fountaine and Robert Fountaine; and

 

WHEREAS, Carla was a graduate of Westland High School, the Ohio State University for her Bachelor’s, and Central Michigan University for her Master’s, and serving as the Director for Community Relations at Nationwide Children’s Hospital; and

 

WHEREAS, Carla was a tireless advocate for community building and did so with unmatched authenticity, rigor, and love, leading Nationwide’s “Good Neighbor Agreement” effort and fostering strong bonds with various civic associations across Columbus; and

WHEREAS, service was an integral part of Carla’s life, she served in a variety of roles on community boards, including All People Arts, the Classic for Columbus, Parsons Avenue Merchants Association, Parsons Avenue Redevelopment Corporation, Rickenbacker Woods Foundation, South End Café; and

WHEREAS, outside of her formal roles, Carla also served in unofficial roles for several community partnerships and initiatives, such as the Linden Advisory Council, Linden Leadership Academy and the One Linden Plan; and

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus extends its sincere condolences to the friends and family of Carla D. Fountaine, including her brother, Robert Fountaine, niece, Dreya Imani Fountaine, and countless other friends, extended family members, and loved ones across Columbus and beyond; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life of Carla D. Fountaine.
