WHEREAS, Nanette Hodge has a rich background in social, political, and corporate environments, is a native of Columbus and a graduate of Linden McKinley High School & Wilberforce University; and
WHEREAS, Nanette Hodge is the proud parent of one son, Chad, and one gorgeous granddaughter, Dominique; and
WHEREAS, Nanette Hodge, who pens as Nanette Marie in her artistic works, is not just a successful playwright and author, but is also a gifted singer & poet; and
WHEREAS, Nanette Hodge wrote and recorded the song "Star Light, Star Bright" in the Grandma & Me children's book series; and
WHEREAS, Nanette Hodge currently serves as PR and Marketing Director for the Nia Performing Arts Theatre Company; and
WHEREAS, "Mamas' Drama"; the first play written by Nanette Marie, is a riveting thought provoking play that enters the lives and experiences of four generations of one family; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor and recognize the first full-stage production debut performances of Nanette Marie's play, "Mamas' Drama," on April 15-17, 2011.
