To recognize and honor the legacy of Bishop Dr. Charles E. Burger, Sr. in his transition into the role of Bishop Emeritus

WHEREAS, Bishop Dr. Charles E. Burger, Sr. has faithfully served as the Pastor and Founder of Rejoice Praise and Worship Center, of the Apostolic Faith for decades, building a vibrant and spiritually rich ministry that has transformed countless lives in Columbus and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Dr. Charles E. Burger dedicated himself to the pastoral call through learning and training at the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, serving the Youth Department, Sunday School, and the Ministry Staff; and
WHEREAS, he has transformed his vision of creating a “Healing Church for Hurting People” into a successful practice, empowering Columbus citizens through spiritual integrity, compassion, and excellence since the church opened its doors to the community in October of 2000; and
WHEREAS, as he enters his transition into Bishop Emeritus, Bishop Dr. Charles E. Burger, Sr. leaves behind not just a legacy of service, but a firm dedication to faith, integrity, and community; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council hereby recognizes and honors Bishop Dr. Charles E. Burger, Sr. in his transition into the role of Bishop Emeritus for his unwavering dedication to spirituality and healing in Columbus.
