To recognize and honor The Franklinton Neighborhood Watch for 9 years of service and dedication to their community and the City of Columbus.
 
Body
 
WHEREAS,       The Franklinton Neighborhood Watch will celebrate their 9th year in August 2003; and
 
WHEREAS, The Franklinton Community plays a vital role in assisting the Columbus Division of Police through joint crime, drug, and violence prevention efforts in the City of Columbus and supports "National Night Out" locally; and
 
WHEREAS, the members of the Franklinton Watch have logged in countless hours of service to their community and to the City of Columbus; and
 
WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of the City of Columbus be aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and the impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs, and violence in the City of Columbus; and
 
WHEREAS, The Franklinton Neighborhood Watch has been a pioneer in the area of block watches in Columbus; and
 
WHEREAS, police-community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness, and cooperation are important themes of The Franklinton Neighborhood Watch program; and
 
WHEREAS, The Franklinton Neighborhood Watch has been an invaluable crime fighting tool to the Columbus Division of Police and the City of Columbus; now, therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby recognize The Franklinton Neighborhood Watch for 9 years of  service and dedication to their community and the City of Columbus.
