Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Flygt Pump Parts and Services with Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc. This contract provides for Flygt Pump and Mixer Parts that are used for maintenance and repair of Flygt systems managed by the wastewater treatment plants and wastewater systems managed by the Division of Sewerage and Drainage.
The contract, PO087573 was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ006459 and authorized under Ordinance Number 2612-2017 and will expire November 30, 2019. In accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Xylem Water Solutions USA Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities. The new contract expiration date will be November 30, 2020.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency measure to insure there is no interruption of goods/services provided.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract. The Department of Public Utilities must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.
