Explanation
Background: This ordinance will enable the Director of Recreation and Parks to accept an Ingram-White Castle Foundation Grant in the amount of $25,000.00 from The Columbus Foundation to support job readiness and employment programming for youth through the APPS Job Readiness Program. Funds will directly support youth participants’ wages in the APPS Job Readiness Program.

Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested as this grant will support the 2026 APPS Job Readiness Program already in progress.
Community input/issues: The grant will allow the Recreation and Parks Department to continue its long-standing commitment to serving youth through job readiness training, career mentorship, and hands-on work experience across the City of Columbus.
Benefits to the Public: The grant will allow youth to invest in career readiness programming and gain real-world work experience.
