Explanation

This is consent legislation with the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a bridge reconstruction project on East Broad Street over Blacklick Creek. Work consists of replacement of the superstructure and approach slabs, replacement of the pier cap, replacement of the top of the abutments, patch piers, and sealing beams and substructure. This project is scheduled for construction in State Fiscal Year 2008. (FRA-SR16-10.25 PID 79943)

Fiscal Impact: The estimated construction cost of the project is $575,000.00, which will be funded by ODOT. There is no cost to the City of Columbus for this project. This legislation also authorizes the Director of Public Service to enter into the necessary agreements to complete this project.

The following is an Ordinance enacted by the City of Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the Local Public Agency (LPA), in the matter of the stated described project.

WHEREAS, the State of Ohio has identified the need for the described project:

This project proposes to perform bridge rehabilitation on the following structure:

FRA-SR16-10.25 (East Broad Street over Blacklick Creek)
Replace superstructure and approach slabs, replace pier cap, replace top of abutments, patch piers, and seal beams and substructures; now, therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1 - Consent Statement

Being in the public interest, the LPA gives consent to the Director of Transportation to complete the above-described project.

SECTION 2 - Cooperation Statement

The LPA shall cooperate with the Director of Transportation in the above-described project...
