Explanation

The Department of Public Utilities solicited 151 vendors for the purchase of custodial services (SA003808). Of those solicited, 4 had certified MBR status, 27 had certified M1A status and 5 had certified F1 status. On February 3, 2011, the Department of Public Utilities received and opened six bids for custodial services for the Division of Power and Water. The lowest, responsive, and responsible bid was AA Janitorial, Inc. at $178,776.00. The Division of Power and Water would like to enter into a one year contract with AA Janitorial, Inc. The Contract Compliance Number for AA Janitorial, Inc. is 31-1190027 and expires on January 12, 2013. The vendor does have MBE status.

The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Utilities received and opened six bids on solicitation number SA003808 on February 3, 2011, and

WHEREAS, the Division of Power and Water recommends an award to be made to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder AA Janitorial, Inc. and,

WHEREAS, these custodial services are used by the Division of Power and Water, for the preservation of public health, peace, property and safety; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
