Explanation
Background:
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Office of Violence Prevention to enter into spring youth programming grant agreements with the following registered 501c3 nonprofit organizations for the listed amount. The total combined amount distributed to the 31 listed organizations shall be $850,000.00. The funding for these agreements were encumbered on ACPO011432 per ordinance 3474-2024.
These grant awards will be used to expand quality spring programming for youth residing within the City of Columbus geographical boundaries. Funding will support local, registered 501c3 non-profit organizations in providing programming that will expand opportunities for Columbus youth to enhance safe and effective non-violent conflict resolution skills, increase emotional intellectual development, assist in community enrichment with a violence prevention focus, and provide safe spaces for youth. The term of these grant agreements will begin on March 1, 2025 and will end on June 30, 2025. All grants shall be paid to awardees in advance.
