To recognize and honor Fernando Alcauter as a Padrino of Latino Heritage Month Columbus 2024

 

Body

WHEREAS, from September 15 to October 15 each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the achievements, histories, traditions and cultural diversity of Hispanic/Latino/Latinx Americans whose heritage is rooted in over 20 Latin American countries and territories; and

WHEREAS, the Latino Heritage Month Columbus Padrinos Initiative was started to honor individuals who have demonstrated ongoing dedication and commitment to the advancement and uplifting of the local Latino community; and

WHEREAS, Fernando Alcauter is the founder and owner of Toro Meat Market which he opened in 2021 and has grown to five locations; all after time as President of La Michoacana Market LLC which is the family business he began his entrepreneurial career in; and

WHEREAS, Fernando Alcauter’s story is a prime example of the important impact Latino entrepreneurship has not just in the local Latino community but with the Greater Columbus community; and

WHEREAS, Fernando Alcauter is a strong advocate of the Latino Community and believes in giving back with his time and resources and partnering with causes that uplift the community; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize and honor Fernando Alcauter as a Padrino of Latino Heritage Month Columbus 2024.
