Explanation

BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes the Administrative Judge of the Franklin County Municipal Court to modify and extend its contract with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Ohio (NAMI Ohio) for provision of a crime prevention specialist in connection with grants from the Franklin County Office of Criminal Justice Programs (CPEG) and Homeland Security and the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH) for the Court's mental health program docket.

The Court has received notification from the ADAMH Board that the term of the grant supporting this contract has been extended until March 31, 2007.

NAMI Ohio's contract compliance number is 311073968.

FISCAL IMPACT
No additional funds will be added to this contract. The Court will use the funds available to extend the contract for the crime prevention specialist for the Court's mental health program docket.

Emergency action is requested to allow the financial transaction to be posted in the city's accounting system as soon as possible. Up to date financial posting promotes accurate accounting and financial management.

Body

WHEREAS, grants from the Franklin County Office of Criminal Justice Programs and Homeland Security and the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH) have been awarded to assist in providing crime prevention support for the Franklin County Municipal Court's mental health docket; and

WHEREAS, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) Ohio has been the agency providing crime prevention support for the mental health docket; and

WHEREAS, the term for this grant has been extended until March 31, 2007 an...
