BACKGROUND: The Division of Water, Department of Public Utilities entered into a contract with URS Corporation for professional engineering services for Livingston Avenue Booster Station on May 15, 2003 under the authority of Ordinance No. 1932-02 passed January 13, 2003. This modification provides for additional engineering services needed to perform construction administration services for the construction of the booster station.

EXPLANATION:
1. Amount of additional funds to be expended under this modification: $225,000.00
2. Reasons additional goods/services could not be foreseen initially: This contract modification is for additional engineering services needed to perform construction administration services for the construction of the booster station.
3. Reasons other procurement processes are not used: The existing consultant is uniquely familiar with the project and could therefore provide excellent service on the requested task. The original proposal presented this work as an "if authorized" item.
How cost of Modification was determined: The rates were negotiated between the Consultant and the City of Columbus as documented by the Consultant's proposal letter.
The original contract provided for the design of Livingston Avenue Booster Station.
This Modification provides for additional engineering services needed to perform construction administration services for the construction of the booster station.
FISCAL IMPACT: The 2005 C.I.B. is being amended and funds are available from the 2005 bond sale.
