Explanation
This ordinance authorizes a grant agreement with the Faith Thomas Foundation, Inc., a non-profit corporation, to reimburse for expenses associated with the Red Diamond Gala.

September is recognized as National Sickle Cell Month, and in accordance with that, the Faith Thomas Foundation hosts a gala designed to educate and advocate for those living with the chronic blood disorder, known as sickle cell disease. The Red Diamond Gala helps to provide attendees a better understanding of the breakthroughs in medications and technology that can improve the quality of life of sickle cell patients, and it helps to raise funding for those who enter the hospital during a sickle cell crisis. The Red Diamond Gala hosted 180 attendees this year that were empowered to become committed and dedicated in becoming advocates that help to make changes in the sickle cell community throughout Franklin County.

This funding will be used to reimburse the Faith Thomas Foundation for expenses incurred for execution of the Red Diamond Gala, including marketing expenses, event management costs, and rental of space and equipment.

Fiscal Impact: Funding is available in the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.
