To honor and recognize Dr. Clayton Royder for his more than six years of service on the Columbus Recreation and Parks Commission, and to thank him for his many years of service to our community.
Body
WHEREAS, Dr. Clayton Royder is a passionate advocate for young people in our community, and he has devoted considerable time and energy to the advancement of recreational opportunities for all of our residents; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Royder moved to Columbus in 1986 to serve in a yearlong residence program at Doctors Hospital, then established a family medical practice on West Town Street; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Royder has served on the Columbus Waterways Committee and has served on the steering committee for Champions for P.L.A.Y. since its inception; and
WHEREAS, a champion for the integration of healthcare with recreation in our community, Dr. Royder's motto is "Recreation and Parks: It's preventative medicine for society"; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Royder served with distinction on the Recreation and Parks Commission, including his two terms as the commission's president; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor and recognize Dr. Clayton Royder for his more than six years of service on the Columbus Recreation and Parks Commission, and thanks him for his many years of service to our community.
