To recognize the members of the Puncher Soldiers Mentorship Program for their outstanding leadership efforts and for their role in helping to create a positive environment at Mifflin High School.
Body
WHEREAS, the mission of the Puncher Soldiers is to develop young men into productive, successful and accountable men, and
WHEREAS, membership in the group requires young men to commit to upholding the principles of the group which include manhood, scholarship, and perseverance, and
WHEREAS, the creed of the Puncher Movement is to lead Mifflin High School in a positive direction by fostering pride and creating a better environment through leadership, accountability, and role modeling, and
WHEREAS, twenty-six male students from Mifflin High School have been selected to participate in the leadership program, and
WHEREAS, the leadership team received the title of "Overall Most Exemplary Project" of the 2007 High School Service Above Self Fair; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby proudly honor and recognize the Mifflin High School Puncher Soldiers for their inspirational vision and the dedicated service they have provided to the student body of Mifflin High and to the Columbus community.
