To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Ms. June A. Wilson and extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends on the occasion of her passing, Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

WHEREAS, the members of Columbus City Council extend this resolution of expression to honor the amazing life legacy, and service of Ms. June A. Wilson who passed-away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021; and
WHEREAS, June A. Wilson was born in Cleveland Ohio on June 23, 1946 to Rev. Fred Douglas Wilson Jr and to Gertrude Amos Boyd Wilson; and
WHEREAS, June was the middle child of her four sisters, Janet Ruby, Janice Faye, Joyce, and Jackie; as a child, June Ann, and her family attended Cory United Methodist Church where she accepted Christ, developing her love for God - June also attended East High School in Cleveland, Ohio; graduating in 1964; and
WHEREAS, June had her first child, Laverne Denise Kisner Price after graduating from high school; June had a great work ethic and was employed as a clerk for the East Cleveland Police Department - during her tenure with East Cleveland, she gave birth to her son, David Douglas Kisner and her second daughter, Robine LaTonya Kisner; and
WHEREAS, June left the East Cleveland police department to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves - she received an honorable discharge after giving birth to her youngest child, Tracee Lynn-Marie Kisner; and
WHEREAS, June, took a few years off to focus on raising her children; she returned to work in the construction industry in the Cleveland area; helping to build Interstate 71 South and I-480; she ended her career retiring as a Fiscal Clerk with the Cuyahoga County Department of Employment & Family Services on January 16, 2009; and
WHEREAS, June relocated to Columbus after her retirement; she continued living a life full of energy, positively impacting everyone she came in contact with - she was passionate, courageous, selfless - she was known for her personality, and her reputation f...
