Explanation
Background:
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Office of Violence Prevention to enter into spring youth and family programming grant agreements with the following registered 501c3 nonprofit organizations for the listed amount. The total combined amount distributed to the 10 listed organizations shall be $156,800.00. This request is being presented at this time due to a delay in receiving all necessary information and finalized contracts from involved vendors.
BRPO003601 with the amount of $37,500.00, BRPO003602 with the amount of $50,000.00, BRPO003603 with the amount of $35,000.00, BRPO003604 with the amount of $23,800.00, and BRPO003608 with the amount of $10,500.00 from is authorized for extension until May 31, 2026 and is to be used specifically for grant agreements with vendors listed below.
These grant awards will be used to expand quality spring programming for youth residing within the City of Columbus geographical boundaries. Funding will support local, registered 501c3 non-profit organizations in providing programming that will expand opportunities for Columbus youth to enhance safe and effective non-violent conflict resolution skills, increase emotional intellectual development, assist in community enrichment with a violence prevention focus, and provide safe spaces for youth. The term of these grant agreements will begin in April 2026 and will end on Sep 31, 2026. All grants shall be paid to awardees in advance.
