Explanation
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to modify and increase the contract for Electric Motor Services with Marion Electric Motors for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant and Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant. The initial contract language provided for two (2) extensions on a year to year basis. This is the first extension to this contract. The new expiration date will be April 30, 2007.
The Director of Public Utilities opened formal bids on March 9, 2005. Three (3) bids were received: Marion Electric Motors, Mid-Ohio Electric and HP Thompson. An award was made to lowest, responsive and responsible bidder, Marion Electric Motors. This contract is utilized by the Division of Sewerage and Drainage wastewater treatment plants for repair and refurbishing of small and large motors that are used throughout the plant to operate various equipment.
