Explanation

Background: Since October 1, 2012 on behalf of Columbus Public Health, the City has leased approximately 2,860 square feet of medical office space located at 77-83 Outerbelt Street to house a Women, Infants and Children (WIC) clinic. The current Lease Agreement (“Lease”), authorized by City Council Ordinance 2415-2018, effective October 1, 2016, will expire on September 30, 2026. This WIC Clinic location is no longer needed as alternative sites have been secured, including the Eastland Prosperity Center at 4485 Refugee Road

In order to align the lease terms and allow for a seamless transition to a new location a two-month extension is required. The City and First Choice Rental Properties Holding, LLC desire to enter into a Third Amendment to Lease Agreement to extend the term through December 31, 2026.

This legislation authorizes the Director of Development, or authorized signatory, to execute those documents necessary to enter into a Third Amendment to Lease Agreement with First Choice Rental Properties Holding, LLC of that certain Lease Agreement, effective October 1, 2016, to extend the lease term through November 30, 2026. All other terms, conditions, and provisions of the Lease will remain unchanged and in full force and effect. This legislation is presented as emergency measure.

Fiscal Impact: Rental funds are provided by Columbus Public Health grant funding. ($0.00)

Emergency Action: This legislation is presented as emergency measure to allow for the amendment to be effective prior to lease expiration.
