This is consent legislation with the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a bridge reconstruction/roadway widening project, which proposes to replace the railroad bridge over CR11 (Alkire Road). As part of this project, the existing roadway under the structure will be widened. Project limits extend from approximately 0.26 miles west of US62 (Harrisburg Pike) to the junction of US62. Based upon these preliminary project limits a portion of this project will be within the City of Columbus. (FRA-CR11-10.49 PID 76255)
The consultant for the preliminary engineering of this project will be selected and funded by the Franklin County Engineer. Right of way and construction will be funded eighty (80) percent by Federal funds and twenty (20) percent by Franklin County.
Since this project lies within the City of Columbus, this consent ordinance is necessary. Construction of this project is scheduled for 2006.
Fiscal Impact: The estimated construction cost of the project is $4,000,000.00. All funds are coming from the Federal government and Franklin County. This legislation also authorizes the Public Service Director to enter into the necessary agreements to complete this project.
Emergency action is requested in order to meet ODOT and the Franklin County Engineer's schedule for this project.
