Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with Community of Caring Development Foundation in support of small business stabilization assistance.

The City of Columbus is currently making major safety related improvements to the Cleveland Avenue and Myrtle Avenue intersection. The ongoing construction has severely disrupted small business activity in that area, and as a result small business stabilization assistance is needed to mitigate the impact of the construction. Community of Caring Development Foundation will utilize Council funds to provide services to impacted businesses.

Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Job Growth subfund.

Emergency action is requested to provide the foundation with the resources necessary to immediately undertake stabilization services.

WHEREAS, the ongoing construction has severely disrupted small business activity in that area, and as a result small business stabilization assistance is needed to mitigate the impact of the construction; and

WHEREAS, Community of Caring Development Foundation will utilize Council funds to provide services to impacted businesses; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the city in that it is immediately necessary to authorize a grant agreement with Community of Caring Development Foundation so that Community of Caring Development can immediately undertake stabilization programming, all for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; and NOW, TH...
