Explanation

Background:
This ordinance will enable the Director of Recreation and Parks to enter into a contract with Experience Columbus for professional and fiscal services related to the 2006 Girls NSA Fast Pitch Tournament being held July 22-29, 2006 in Berliner Park.

Experience Columbus will provide needed prifessional and fiscal services to support this tournament.

Due to the unique nature of services psrovided, the department is requesting the waiver of the bidding provisions of the Columbus City Codes toenter into a contract with Experience Columbus.

The Federal ID Number for Experience Columbus is 31-4153118.

Emergency action is requested so contract can be completed prior to need for services.

Fiscal Impact:
$116,000.00 is required from the Recreation and Parks Operating Fund to meet the financial obligation of this contract.

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Columbus to waive the requirements of competitive bidding and contract with Experience Columbus to provide professional and fiscal services to the 2006 Girls NSA Fast Pitch Tournament being held July 22 - 29, 2006, in Berliner Park; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into said contract prior to the need for services; now, therefore
