Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will authorize the Director of Recreation and Parks to enter into an agreement with the Director of Transportation for the Ohio Department of Transportation for the construction of a bike path on new alignment from the intersection of Alum Creek Drive and Performance Way to the existing north terminus of the Alum Creek Trail east of Alum Creek and South of State Route 104.
This ordinance will also authorize the transfer of funds within the Parks and Recreation 1995 and 1999 Bond Fund and an expenditure for the local costs of this project.
Participation in this project was authorized by Ordinance No. 1087-02, Final Resolution, passed July 15, 2002 by Columbus City Council.
Emergency action is requested to allow this project to proceed in a timely manner.
Fiscal Impact:
$394,790.00 is budgeted in the Parks and Recreation 1995 and 1999 Voted Bond Fund to meet the financial obligation of this agreement.
$204,913.54 is being transferred within the Voted 1995 and 1999 Parks and Recreation Bond Fund, as shown in Section 2 of this ordinance.

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Recreation and Parks Department to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the construction of a bike path on new alignment; and
