Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with Men-of-Morphisus Foundation in support of their job fair event in April.

The mission of Men-of-Morphisus Foundation, dba Black Transmen of Ohio, is to promote equity for black transgender men and non-binary individuals in Ohio by increasing visibility, cultivating community, facilitating resource access, and advocating for their rights. As part of their programming, the organization has provided a financial planning workshop, custom suit fittings in partnership with Pursuit, and multiple job readiness trainings.

This grant agreement will support a job fair for LGBTQ+ individuals in April. This includes a collaboration with Mozaic Ohio that provides a job readiness training series to participating individuals. The grant agreement will may cover venue costs, a photographer to provide free headshots attending the job fair, marketing costs, and up to $700 in food costs to provide refreshments at the job fair. No funds from this grant agreement will be used to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Job Growth subfund.

WHEREAS, Columbus City Council seeks to promote policies and programs that provide job readiness training and opportunities for disadvantaged populations; and

WHEREAS, Men-of-Morphisus Foundation is providing resume workshops, job interview preparation trainings, and additional supports to BIPOC transgender men in Columbus; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize this grant agreement to Men-of-Morphisus Foundation to provide support for their spring job fair; NOW, THEREFORE,
