Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Board of Health to modify an existing contract for interpretation services for WIC clinics in an amount not to exceed $44,000.00.
The existing contract with Access 2 Interpreters LLC, entered into on October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026; will be modified by increasing the contract in an amount not to exceed $44,000.00 for a new contract amount of $94,000.00.
This contract and modification are fully funded by the 2025-2026 WIC grant G502537. The contract mod is needed due to additional volume interpretation services for the remainder of the grant cycle ending September 30,2026.
It would not be in the city's best interests to have the additional contract requirements awarded through other procurement processes because this vendor was awarded via RFQ020993. The price was determined by the current contract and the RFQ.
This ordinance is submitted as an emergency to ensure that clients have adequate access to interpretation.
FISCAL IMPACT Expenditures to provide these services are budgeted in the 2025-2026 WIC Administration Grant. ($44,000.00)

WHEREAS, the Board of Health has a need to modify an existing contract for interpretation services for WIC clinics with Access 2 Interpreters LLC by increasing the contract amount by $44,000.00 for a new contract amount of $94,000.00. Total amount needed to increase this contract shall not exceed $44,000.00; and
WHEREAS, Access 2 Interpreters LLC has the expertise required to carry out those services; and
