To Honor and Recognize the 60th Anniversary of Faith Mission

WHEREAS, Faith Mission, now a program of Lutheran Social Services, opened its doors on February 6, 1966, to provide shelter, meals and hope to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community; and
WHEREAS, for 60 years, Faith Mission has served as a vital resource for people facing housing instability, offering emergency shelter, basic needs and pathways toward stability and dignity; and
WHEREAS, Faith Mission was founded through a collaboration of congregations and volunteers who recognized the urgent need to care for neighbors experiencing poverty and homelessness; and
WHEREAS, the work of Faith Mission has been sustained through a strong partnership of dedicated staff, volunteers, congregations, private donors and local government support, reflecting a shared public and community commitment to addressing homelessness; and
WHEREAS, Faith Mission continues to adapt to the evolving needs of the community, working to address the root causes of homelessness while providing immediate care and support; and
WHEREAS, Faith Mission encourages residents of our community to join in on this milestone and to support efforts that promote housing stability, dignity and hope for all; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council hereby honors and recognizes the 60th anniversary of Faith Mission.
