To recognize Shremshock Architects, Inc., Franklin County Children Services, Dave Thomas Foundation, and the Adopt a Child Foundation for partnering together to kickoff National Adoption Month.

WHEREAS, Each year, November is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month. While all adoption-related issues are important, the particular focus of this month is the adoption of children currently in foster care; and
WHEREAS, Adopting a child through Franklin County Children Services can be a rewarding and heartfelt experience . . . both for the adopted child and for the adopting parent; and
WHEREAS, There are presently more than 200 children in the permanent custody of Franklin County Children Services waiting to be adopted; and
WHEREAS, Children thrive in loving families where they are nurtured, comforted, and protected; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby commend Shremshock Architects, Inc., Franklin County Children Services, Dave Thomas Foundation, and the Adopt a Child Foundation for partnering together in an effort to bring greater awareness to to the hundreds of children who need a stable home.
