To honor, recognize, and celebrate the life of Hugh J. Dorrian, 1935 - 2026

 

Body

WHEREAS, Hugh J. Dorrian was born on June 11th, 1935 to his parents, Hugh Joseph Dorrian and Anna Flaherty; and,

 

WHEREAS, Hugh Dorrian loved Columbus and its people, serving the City of Columbus for over 50 years, primarily as Treasure of the City of Columbus, Ohio, receiving the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement from the Government Finance Association of the United States and Canada; and,

 

WHEREAS, Hugh Dorrian served on various investment committees, finance committees as a volunteer, honored as a finalist for the AICPA Outstanding CPA in Government Award by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, received “Ethics in Government Award” from the Ohio Government Finance Offers Association; and,

 

WHEREAS, High Dorrian served as a lecturer at The Ohio State University graduate School of Public Policy and Management, now The John Glenn School of Public Affairs, teaching “Governmental and Non-Profit Accounting”; and, 

 

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus extends its sincere condolences to the friends and family of Hugh Dorrian, including his children, Julia (David Robinson) Dorrian, Margaret Lombardo, Mary (Dennis) Jeffrey and Hugh Joseph "Joe" (PoYee) Dorrian; grandchildren Joe (Julie Hancock), Eileen and Thomas Jeffrey; Patrick, Grace, Bridget and Maggie Lombardo; Hugh Robinson; Catherine and Joseph Dorrian; sister Mary Pulsinelli; brother-in-law Pat Flynn; and the countless other family  members, friends, faith leaders, and loved ones across Columbus and beyond; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life of Hugh Dorrian.
