Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes the Director of Finance and Management to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with the Universal Term Contract for the Dorrian Green Parking Garage Repair located at 50 Belle Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, for the Department of Public Service, Division of Mobility and Parking Services.
The Department of Public Service, Division of Mobility and Parking Services is responsible for maintaining safety of the above noted parking garage, that is in need of repairs. Work includes construction of extensions of the north and south stair enclosures, park level air intake and vents, and of cap and flashing over the visible sheet pile wall at the parking garage vehicle entrance ramp as well as preparation to complete the work. Extensions of the stair enclosures will consist of structural steel, storefront system with spandrel glass and fixed aluminum louvers, and membrane roof over the support structure. New work will blend into and match the existing appearance of stair enclosure. New work at remaining park level air intakes and vent enclosures will consist of cast-in-place concrete pilasters and fixed aluminum louvers with a cast-in-place concrete roof sloped for drainage. New work at the vehicle ramp will include framed construction supporting metal panel, integral gutter, and flashing required to divert rainwater onto vehicle ramp for improved drainage of the parking facility.
The City has a multiple year Universal Term Contract established for this type of renovation under RFQ028293 with four vendors: 2K General Co., Marker Inc., Old Fashioned LLC, and The Righter Co., Inc. All four vendors were invited to bid on the project. An optional walk through was held July 30, 2026, and the selected consultant, The Righter Co., Inc., was in attendance.
