Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Public Service Director to enter into various contracts for the Facilities Management Division for the renovation of 650 West Nationwide Boulevard. The Transportation Division will occupy the building and utilizes the location as a downtown outpost facility street maintenance operations and snow removal.
This ordinance authorizes the Public Service Director to enter into contract with Enviro-Flow Companies in the amount of $30,698.00 for the renovation of the plumbing at 650 West Nationwide Boulevard. The current plumbing is inoperable and the building is not habitable until it is repaired. The renovation will consist of the removal of old plumbing equipment and fixtures and the installation of new plumbing equipment and fixtures. The new equipment will include a hot water tank, two backflow preventers, faucets, sink traps, shower faucets, shower heads, wall hydrants, etc. The contractor has forty-five days upon the award of the contract to complete the work.
Formal proposals were solicited on September 2, 2004, and opened on September 21, 2004. Four bids were received as follows (0 MBE, 0 FBE):

The Facilities Management Division recommends the contract award to the most responsive and responsible bidder, Enviro-Flow Companies. General Temperature Control withdraw its bid on September 22, 2004 after discovering several errors in its bid preparation.
