Explanation
BACKGROUND: To change the company name and Federal Identification number for contract number FL002221 for the purchase of Altivia VX-456 for the Department of Public Utilities. This ordinance authorizes the assignment of all past, present and future business done by the City of Columbus with Altivia Corporation, FID 760286335 to USFilter Wastewater Group Inc., FID 954328532, ACT through 6/15/07.
1. Amount of additional funds: No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract.
2. Reason additional needs were not foreseen: The current supplier merged with another company.
3. Reason other procurement processes not used: The same exact product is required as originally bid. No lower pricing/more attractive terms and conditions are anticipated through rebidding at this time.
4. How cost was determined: Terms and conditions are in accordance with the original agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funds are required to modify the option contract. Each agency must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.
In order to maintain an uninterrupted of services to City agencies using this Universal Term Contract, this ordinance is being submitted as an emergency.

To authorize and direct the Finance and Management Director to modify past, present and future purchase orders with Altivia Corporation, to reflect a name change to the company as a result of new ownership; and to declare an emergency.

WHEREAS, the Finance and Management Department/Purchasing Office established the contract with Altivia Corporation for the option to purchase Altivia VX-456; and
WHEREAS, USFilter Wastewater Group Inc., purchased Altivia Corporation, in addition to notifying the City of the purchase, USFilter Wastewater Group Inc., has agreed to honor the past, present and future purchase orders established from contract number FL002221, and
