Explanation

BACKGROUND: For the Purchase of Pest Control Services for Various City Agencies. The term of the proposed option contract will be for approximately two (2) years, expiring March 31, 2009, with the option to renew for one (1) additional year. The Purchasing Office opened formal bids on April 26, 2007.

The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with Section 329.06 (Solicitation SA002393) Nine (MAJ:5 , MBE:4, FBE0:) bids were solicited; Three (3) (MAJ:1, MBE:2) bids were received.

The Purchasing Office is recommending award to the lowest, responsive, responsible and best bidder:

AAA General Services, Incorporated. MBE, CC#311639944 (expires April 27, 2009).
Total Estimated Annual Expenditure: $40,000.00

This company is not debarred according to the Federal Excluded Parties Listing or the State Auditor's Findings For Recovery Database.

This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency because, without emergency action, no less than 37 days will be added to this procurement cycle and the efficient delivery of valuable public services will be slowed.

FISCAL IMPACT: Funding to establish this option contract is budgeted in the Purchasing Contract Account. Various Agencies will be required to obtain approval to expend from their own appropriations for their estimated annual expenditures.
