Explanation
BACKGROUND: While processing documentation for contract DL011904 between the City of Columbus and Community Research Partners, it was discovered that Section II, Time of Agreement of the Contract was written in error. In order to correct the error this ordinance establishes June 30, 2007 as the correct ending date for contract DL011904, an extension of five months.
Emergency action is requested in order to correct the time of agreement and to allow program services to continue uninterrupted.

Title
To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to modify a contract with Community Research Partners to extend the contract period to June 30, 2007; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, while processing documentation for contract DL011904 between the City of Columbus and Community Research Partners, it was discovered that Section II Time of Agreement of the Contract was written in error; and
WHEREAS, this Ordinance before Council will correct the above stated error in contract DL011904 by extending the contract date to June 30, 2007, an extension of five months; and
WHEREAS, emergency action is requested in order to correct the time of agreement and to allow program services to continue uninterrupted; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development in that it is immediately necessary to modify said contract, all for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Development be and is hereby authorized to modify contract DL011904 with Community Research Partners by extending the contract period to June 30, 2007.
Section 2. That this modification is made pursuant to Section 329.16 of the Columbus City Code.
