Explanation
Background:
The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging of the Recreation and Parks Department desires to submit a grant application to Franklin County Children Services in connection with the Kinship Care Navigator Project.
This grant will be used to expand the National Family Caregiver Support Program by assisting grandparents caring for grandchildren by linking them to services and benefits in the community.
Fiscal Impact:
If funded, only grant funds will be used for said program. $150,000.00 in funding is being requested for the first year.

To authorize and direct the Director of Recreation and Parks to submit a grant application to Franklin County Children Services in the amount of $150,000.00 to assist family caregivers of children in Franklin County in connection with the Kinship Care Navigator Project.
Body
Section 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and he is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Franklin County Children Services.
Section 2. That this ordinance authorizes an application only, and is not a commitment to expend City funds. A second ordinance to accept the grant is required before the City will obligate its funds.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
