Explanation
The Collective Bargaining Contract (“Contract”) dated September 1, 2021 through September 1, 2024, between the City and the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council Inc. (OLC), requires that any modifications to the Contract be agreed between the parties. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) #2021-03 has been executed by the parties. MOU #2021-03 extends $500 of “Hero Pay”, pursuant to Ordinance 2072-2021, to all bargaining unit members in recognition of their service to the City and its citizens throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. MOU #2021-03 also provides an additional $500 incentive to all bargaining unit members to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on or before December 1, 2021.
The passage of this ordinance indicates City Council’s approval of MOU #2021-03, a copy of which is attached hereto.
Emergency action is recommended in order to allow for expedient implementation.

WHEREAS, representatives of the City and the OLC entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) #2021-03, a copy of which is attached hereto, which amends the Contract between the City and the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc.
