To support the City of Dublin as the selected municipal appointment for the Franklin County 9-1-1 Planning Committee.
Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 4931.42 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners have created a 9-1-1 Planning Committee; and
 
WHEREAS, the purpose of convening the 9-1-1 Planning Committee is to develop a plan for adopting and modifying an effective and updated 9-1-1 system countywide; and
 
WHEREAS, the 9-1-1 Planning Committee for Franklin County consists of five members, including the presiding officer of the board of county commissioners, the chief executive officer of the two most populous cities in the county, a member of a board of township trustees selected by a majority of the boards of trustees of the county, and a chief executive officer of a municipal corporation in the county selected by a majority of legislative authorities of municipal corporations in the county; and
 
WHEREAS, the 2010 census results have necessitated a change in the designation of the second largest city appointment and the selected municipal appointment; and
 
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin currently serves as one of the five primary wireless Public Safety Answering Points in Franklin County and expressed an interest in serving as the selected municipal appointment; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby support the City of Dublin as the selected municipal appointment for the Franklin County 9-1-1 Planning Committee.
