Explanation
1. BACKGROUND:
A. Need. This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to establish a Purchase Order for Lawn Maintenance in Zones 1, 2, and 3 from the current City-wide contract for the option to purchase such services, FEM Project No. 0202.10, for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage. This size of the Division's mowing program at its existing facilities results in a contract above the $100,000 limit in Section 329.07 (g) of Columbus City Codes, thereby requiring this legislation.
B. Contract Compliance No.: 311432478 (MAJ).
C. Emergency Designation: Emergency designation is not requested.
2. FISCAL IMPACT: The FY2007 Budget allocates a total of $215,000 for this purpose. Amounts appropriated for this purpose in recent years are as follows:

This project involves all of the Division's major facilities, City-wide.
Title
To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to establish a Purchase Order with Hickman Lawn Care, Inc., for Lawn Maintenance in Zones 1, 2, and 3 from the current City-wide contract for the option to purchase such services, for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage; and to authorize the expenditure of $175,120.00 from the Sewerage System Operating Fund ($175,120.00).
Body
WHEREAS, the Division of Sewerage and Drainage requires Lawn Maintenance services for the proper operation and maintenance of its facilities; and
WHEREAS, provision of Lawn Maintenance by contract has been determined to be the most cost-effective means of providing mowing for the Division; and
WHEREAS, the City's Purchasing Office has bid these services for a City-wide option contract (UTC) under Solicitation #SA001527, and established such contract via ordinance No. 0571-2005; and
