Explanation
Background: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director, on behalf of the Division of Facilities Management, to enter into a contract with CSI International, Inc., to purchase custodial services for the Fire Training Academy located at 3639, 3663 and 3675 Parsons Avenue. The Division of Facilities Management is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of various city facilities under the purview of the Department of Finance and Management. Competitive best value proposals from qualified companies were solicited, via RFQ024502, to provide all aspects of custodial services including, but not limited to, general cleaning, supplies, emergency response plans, work inspections, and employee supervision for the Academy. The initial term of this contract will be for the period July 2023 - June 2024. This contract allows four (4) annual renewal options, which may be exercised at the discretion of the City. The renewals are on a year to year basis and are subject to funds availability and approval of Columbus City Council. CSI International, Inc. will adhere to Code Section 329.18(c) (8) regarding payment of a responsible wage. It should be noted that CSI International is the current custodial services provider for the Fire Training Academy and so no transition of duties and responsibilities to a separate vendor will be necessary.
Bid Information: RFQ024502. On March 30, 2023, the Purchasing Office published Fire Training Academy Custodial Services Best Value Procurement. Reponses were due April 20, 2023. Nine offers were received and an evaluation committee reviewed and scored proposals. CSI International received the highest overall scores from the committee and it is therefore recommended that a contract be awarded to CSI International for custodial services at the Fire Training Academy.
