WHEREAS, Freedom a la Cart empowers survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation to build lives of freedom and self-sufficiency and believe that giving a woman practical job skills and developing strong work ethic is vital for creating a pathway to freedom.
WHEREAS, Freedom a la Cart has a vision to provide economic empowerment as a means to break cycles of exploitation.
WHEREAS, Freedom a la Cart has created a safe place of restoration where survivors can heal, learn and grow as they prepare for sustainable employment and reintegrate into our community.
WHEREAS, Freedom a la Cart was once a single food cart, grew into a thriving box lunch and drop-off catering company and has grown into a full-service cafe as well; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
That this council does hereby recognize and celebrate Freedom a la Cart on the 1st anniversary of their cafe and for all the work they do to empower and uplift survivors of sex trafficking in our community.
